Acoustic tiles in Scout Hall

Published Thu 24 Oct 2024

A large cavernous space with hard, sound-reflective surfaces on all sides is a recipe for noise. As many users can tell you - especially the scout leaders trying to get the attention of 30 boisterous scouts - the noise levels made communication very difficult.

After several months of investigation, consultation and finally installation, we are extremely pleased to have alleviated this problem. We installed 210 square metres of 50mm sound absorbing tiles - QuietSpace50 from Autex. The local company Mojo Consructions did the installation in early October. Look at the result here.

The environment inside the hall has been instantly transformed into one in which noise can be made by several small groups at once and everyone can still hear each other. The end result of the protracted project is excellent for the hearing health of everyone who uses the hall.
